Welcome

Thank you for visiting The Studio JB's blogspot. The Studio JB is short for The Studio of John the Baptist. Our goal, through our multimedia efforts, is to take the entertainment aspects of our contemporary culture and “baptize them” through re-working the lyrics in our songs. If you haven't already seen it, you can catch our first music video here. Over time we will release more videos, all with Catholic themes. This blogspot is where we will explain the songs in greater detail, a Catechetical approach if you will as our hope is that such videos will provide both good, clean entertainment and an interest in learning more about the Catholic faith.

History

Studio JB was founded through the collective efforts of Ted Wohlford, Brad Zamora, and Edwin C. Dwyer (that's me). I have long been a fan of Weird Al Yankovich and all other talented parody artists. When I was growing up my two little sisters seemed to always be playing their music loudly, and I always hated their selections. The way in which I would try to counter in this battle of the siblings was to re-write the lyrics I unfortunately committed to memory. This practice would often keep me entertained on long road trips to sporting events, and Steubenville Youth Conferences through my high school years. This past November I discovered the Maccabeats viral hit, “Candlelight” and found myself very impressed with their efforts and proud to Catholic (Catholics recognize both books of Maccabees in the Bible). I was also inspired to write a Catholic version of Dynamite. After a few weeks of listening to the song, and reading the Bible, I had finished the lyrics to the Archangel Song. I had not really thought about trying to produce the song, or a music video but I did show the lyrics to Ted who, somehow, convinced me that we could make a video and start a Catechetical ministry. Ted approached Brad, our vocalist, who agreed to use his God-given talent in our first recording; the nucleus of Studio JB was set, all that was left was to find a benefactor to pay for our equipment, and enough personnel to play all the parts of the song.

Future
We are currently working on several songs for future release, all are re-writes of popular songs from the current day and recent past. Since most everybody involved in this project is a seminarian, however, our time is limited for production. Nevertheless, please subscribe to our youtube channel. We also have a facebook page.
Thanks for visiting us.

Prayers,
The Studio JB
